Best Wyndham Rewards Redemptions in 2026: The 15,000-Point Sweet Spot, the New 45,000 Tier, and What Points Are Worth
Wyndham points are worth 0.6 to 0.7 cents, the chart becomes 5,000/15,000/30,000/45,000 points on September 15, 2026, and Earner cards take up to 25% off.

Wyndham Rewards points are worth about 0.6 to 0.7 cents each in September 2026: The Points Guy holds Wyndham at 0.7 cents in its September 2026 valuations, NerdWallet says 0.7 (May 26, 2026 analysis), Frequent Miler’s Reasonable Redemption Value sits at 0.67 cents (April 2026, down from 0.70), and One Mile at a Time cut its figure from 0.7 to 0.6 cents on September 2, 2026, citing the coming devaluation at the top of the chart. That puts Wyndham level with Marriott and far behind Hyatt. What the per-point number misses is that Wyndham still runs a fixed, published award chart, so a $600 beach resort and a $90 roadside motel can cost the same number of points, and you choose which one you book.
This guide covers the chart before and after September 15, 2026, where the 15,000- and 30,000-point tiers beat their average, the refreshed Barclays Earner cards, and when moving Chase, Capital One, or Citi points into Wyndham makes sense. Key Facts: Wyndham Rewards redemptions in 2026
- Wyndham points are worth about 0.6 to 0.7 cents each (One Mile at a Time 0.6, Frequent Miler 0.67, TPG and NerdWallet 0.7)
- The chart stays fixed but changes on September 15, 2026: 7,500 / 15,000 / 30,000 points becomes 5,000 / 15,000 / 30,000 / 45,000 points per bedroom per night
- Bookings made before September 15 are honored at the old price; if a hotel gets cheaper, Wyndham refunds the difference in points automatically
- The Barclays Earner Premier ($395, launched June 17, 2026) takes 25 percent off award nights; the Earner Business takes 20 percent, the Earner Plus and no-fee Earner take 10 percent
- Chase Ultimate Rewards (since February 25, 2026), Capital One miles, and Citi ThankYou points all transfer to Wyndham at 1:1
- Vacasa vacation rentals are gone: new bookings ended November 30, 2025, final checkouts January 31, 2026
How Wyndham Award Pricing Works in 2026 (and What Changes on September 15)
Wyndham calls its award nights “go free,” and through September 14, 2026, every participating hotel sits at one of three prices: 7,500, 15,000, or 30,000 points per bedroom per night. The “per bedroom” part matters: Club Wyndham, WorldMark, Margaritaville Vacations, and Shell Vacations Club resorts book on the same chart, so a 2-bedroom condo at a 15,000-point resort costs 30,000 points a night, with a 2-night minimum at vacation club properties.
On September 15, 2026, the chart becomes four tiers: 5,000, 15,000, 30,000, and 45,000 points. Wyndham’s tier-update page says the vast majority of hotels will sit at the 5,000-, 15,000-, and 30,000-point levels, with 45,000 reserved for a small number of its most premium hotels. Some properties move down, some up, and Wyndham has not published a list or, as Frequent Miler noted, a count of how many hotels get more expensive.
Two protections soften the change. Bookings made before September 15 are honored at the old rate even if the hotel later moves up, and if a booked hotel moves down, the difference is refunded automatically. Book anything you plan to stay at through 2027 now, and you cannot lose.
The points-and-cash option, “go fast,” floats alongside the chart: discounted nights start at 750 points plus cash today and 500 points plus cash after September 15, scaling up by tier. And no, Wyndham has not gone dynamic. The Points Guy, One Mile at a Time, and Frequent Miler all confirmed in June 2026 that the program keeps a fixed chart with no peak pricing, which among the large US programs only Wyndham and Hyatt can still say.
What Are Wyndham Points Worth in 2026?
The 2026 valuations cluster between 0.6 and 0.7 cents per point: One Mile at a Time 0.6 (September 2, 2026), Frequent Miler 0.67 (April 15, 2026), NerdWallet 0.7 (May 26, 2026), and The Points Guy 0.7 (September 2026). The trend is mildly negative because of the 45,000-point tier; One Mile at a Time trimmed its number because “the cost of top redemptions is increasing.” Frequent Miler’s analysis, built from about 2.2 million award searches across nearly 7,000 properties, adds the detail that matters for planning: the median award returns 0.67 cents, the 75th percentile 0.88, and the 90th percentile 1.14. By brand, Registry Collection awards averaged 1.13 cents and Super 8 0.59. For Wyndham’s number next to all eight major hotel programs on one scale, see our hotel points value guide.
Here is how Wyndham compares to the other big programs using The Points Guy’s September 2026 figures:
| Program | TPG value (September 2026) |
|---|---|
| World of Hyatt | 1.65 cents |
| Choice Privileges | 0.85 cents |
| Marriott Bonvoy | 0.75 cents |
| Wyndham Rewards | 0.7 cents |
| IHG One Rewards | 0.6 cents |
| Hilton Honors | 0.4 cents |
Use 0.7 cents as your bar. A 15,000-point night needs a cash rate above $105 to clear it; a 30,000-point night needs $210. Both thresholds are low for the hotels in those tiers, which is the whole case for Wyndham points: the chart caps what you pay while cash rates run free.

Why 15,000 Points Is the Sweet Spot
The 15,000-point tier does not change on September 15, and it is where the fixed chart does its best work. Wyndham’s portfolio is heavy on Ramada, Wyndham Garden, Dolce, and Wyndham-branded full-service hotels in Europe and Asia that sit at 15,000 points while charging $150 to $500 in cash, depending on season, and Frequent Miler’s 90th-percentile figure of 1.14 cents comes mostly from this band.
A 15,000-point night that would cost $200 returns 1.33 cents per point, nearly double the consensus value. With the Earner Plus card’s 10 percent discount you pay 13,500 points, 1.48 cents. With the Earner Premier’s 25 percent discount it is 11,250 points, 1.78 cents. That is Hyatt-adjacent value from a currency that Chase, Capital One, and Citi will all hand you at 1:1.
Best-Value Wyndham Sweet Spots in 2026
The table pulls from Upgraded Points’ redemption guide updated August 11, 2026, with cents per point computed from their reported cash rates. Every property priced under the current chart, and any 30,000-point resort is a candidate for 45,000 on September 15.
| Property | Points/night | Reported cash rate | Cents per point |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Puerto Rico | 30,000 | ~$1,200 (Upgraded Points) | ~4.0 |
| Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach, Florida | 30,000 | ~$600 (Upgraded Points) | ~2.0 |
| H4 Hotel Arcadia Locarno, Switzerland | 30,000 | ~$450 (Upgraded Points) | ~1.5 |
| Wyndham Boston Beacon Hill | 30,000 | ~$400 (Upgraded Points) | ~1.3 |
| Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen (all-inclusive) | 30,000 | all-inclusive for two guests | varies |
| Akti Imperial Dolce, Rhodes, Greece | 15,000 | $200 - $500 (Upgraded Points) | 1.3 - 3.3 |
| Ramada Resort Khao Lak, Thailand | 15,000 | $70 - $300 (Upgraded Points) | 0.5 - 2.0 |
| Ramada Plaza Bangkok Menam Riverside | 7,500 | $50 - $150 (Upgraded Points) | 0.7 - 2.0 |
The Wyndham Grand Rio Mar is the best number in the program right now, and it is also one of six hotels Wyndham showcases on its own tier-update page, alongside the Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek. Wyndham does not say which way they move, but a $1,200 resort at 30,000 points is what a 45,000-point tier was built for.
The Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen is the all-inclusive play. Award nights run 30,000 points per bedroom, and the property page states that “award nights include meals, beverages, and other resort services for up to two guests only.” All-inclusive cash rates are quoted per person, so the cents-per-point figure depends on your dates; the point is that 30,000 points (22,500 with the Earner Premier) covers a night, all meals, and all drinks for two. The former Wyndham Alltra Cancun left the brand in 2025; Playa del Carmen, Punta Cana, and Samaná remain.
The Barclays Wyndham Earner Cards After the June 2026 Refresh
Wyndham and Barclays relaunched the lineup on June 17, 2026, adding a premium card and rewriting the award discounts, which had been a flat 10 percent. Every figure below is from the Barclays product pages as of September 2026; welcome offers change, so confirm before applying.
| Card | Annual fee | Earn at Wyndham / bonus categories | Anniversary points | Status | Award discount |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wyndham Rewards Earner | $0 | 5x / 3x dining, grocery, gas, EV charging | 7,500 after $15,000 spend | Gold | 10% |
| Wyndham Rewards Earner Plus | $95 | 6x / 4x dining, grocery, travel | 15,000 | Diamond year 1, Platinum after | 10% |
| Wyndham Rewards Earner Business | $149 | 8x / 5x gas, EV, marketing, advertising, office supplies, shipping | 15,000 | Diamond | 20% |
| Wyndham Rewards Earner Premier | $395 | 8x / 4x dining, grocery, travel | 30,000 | Diamond | 25% |
The award discount is the benefit to price. Under the September 15 chart, a 15,000-point night costs 13,500 points with the Earner or Earner Plus, 12,000 with the Business, and 11,250 with the Premier; a 30,000-point night runs 27,000 / 24,000 / 22,500. The Premier’s discount on a 30,000-point resort saves 7,500 points a night, about $52 at 0.7 cents and about $150 of hotel at Clearwater Beach prices.
The Earner Plus at $95 is the sensible default. Fifteen thousand anniversary points is one sweet-spot night every year, worth $105 at the consensus value and $200 or more at the hotels in the table. It adds a free night worth up to 15,000 points after five or more nights in a calendar year, Diamond status in year one and Platinum after, and 10 percent off every award. Barclays lists a welcome offer of up to 100,000 points after $1,000 in spend in 90 days plus $500 at Wyndham hotels in 180 days.
The Earner Premier at $395 pays only if you would spend the credits anyway. Barclays lists a $100 Wyndham hotel credit, up to $120 in meal delivery credits, up to $100 in streaming credits, a $65 wholesale club credit, a TSA PreCheck or Global Entry credit, and Wyndham Rewards Insider membership (a paid program that discounts cash stays, valued at $95). Use the hotel, wholesale, and streaming credits and the net fee is about $130 for 30,000 anniversary points, a free night worth up to 30,000 points after five nights, Diamond status, the 25 percent discount, and points that never expire. A household redeeming two or three 30,000-point resort nights a year covers that net fee on the discount alone; anyone else is holding a $395 card for a 0.7-cent currency. The listed welcome offer is up to 120,000 points after $6,000 in spend in 120 days plus $750 at Wyndham hotels in 180 days.
The Earner Business at $149 is the quiet pick for anyone with a business: 20 percent off awards, Diamond status, and a $65 wholesale club credit that takes the effective fee to $84.

Wyndham Elite Status and the Caesars Match
Wyndham Rewards has four earned tiers: Blue at enrollment, Gold after 5 nights, Platinum after 15, and Diamond after 40, with point bonuses of 10, 15, and 20 percent. Diamond adds suite upgrades when available and a welcome amenity. Since the paid Earner cards hand out Platinum or Diamond automatically, few people should chase these tiers with stays.
The feature that makes Wyndham status interesting to non-hotel people is the Caesars Rewards match. Wyndham Platinum matches to Caesars Platinum and Wyndham Diamond to Caesars Diamond, and the reverse works too: Caesars Platinum to Wyndham Platinum, Caesars Diamond or Seven Stars to Wyndham Diamond. Caesars Diamond brings waived resort fees at Caesars properties, a $100 Celebration Dinner credit (or a $50 Uber Eats credit), a complimentary Atlantis Bahamas stay, and a 72-hour room guarantee in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, per AwardWallet’s February 2026 guide.
The 2025 rule change closed the shortcut. Since February 1, 2025, Wyndham’s terms say members who obtained Platinum or Diamond “solely from being a Wyndham Rewards credit cardholder” are no longer eligible to match to Caesars; you need the 15 or 40 nights in Wyndham beds. If you already hold Caesars Diamond, the reverse match into Wyndham Diamond still works and takes five to seven days to verify, per NerdWallet’s August 2026 guide. Our hotel elite status guide covers how Wyndham’s tiers compare to Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt.
Getting Points In: Chase, Capital One, and Citi at 1:1, Plus Buying Points
Wyndham’s partner-transfer page lists eight inbound partners, including Bilt and Wells Fargo. The three that matter:
Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer to Wyndham at 1:1, in 1,000-point increments, from the Sapphire and Ink cards that support partner transfers. Chase added Wyndham on February 25, 2026, as its fourth hotel partner, and ran a 30 percent transfer bonus through March 31, 2026. Frequent Miler’s verdict at launch was blunt: a poor use of Chase points at 1:1, since Wyndham sells its own points for about 0.7 cents. A bonus changes that: at 30 percent, a 30,000-point Clearwater night cost about 23,100 Chase points against a $600 cash rate, 2.6 cents per Chase point. Our Best Chase Ultimate Rewards Redemptions guide covers the rest of the partner list.
Capital One miles transfer to Wyndham at 1:1, per Capital One’s January 2026 partner guide. Capital One has no Hyatt partner, so Wyndham and Choice are its only hotel options at par. With The Points Guy valuing Capital One miles at 1.85 cents, a 1:1 transfer is a bad trade at face value and a fine one against a specific 15,000-point hotel priced at $300.
Citi ThankYou points transfer to Wyndham at 1:1 from premium cards like the Strata Premier and at 1:0.7 from no-fee cards like the Double Cash; Citi ran a 25 percent bonus through June 13, 2026. Wyndham is one of the few hotel programs all three big banks feed, which makes it a natural top-off for one booking.
Buying points competes directly with transfers. One Mile at a Time covered a July 29 to August 14, 2026 promotion selling Wyndham points with up to a 90 percent bonus, which worked out to 0.68 cents per point, with an annual cap of 100,000 points per account before bonuses. At 0.68 cents, a 30,000-point night costs $204 in purchased points ($153 with the Earner Premier’s discount), so every hotel in the sweet-spot table beats buying. Buying speculatively is the mistake; buying against a booked Rio Mar or Clearwater date can be the best deal in the program.
Common Mistakes That Waste Wyndham Points
- Waiting past September 15 to book a 30,000-point resort. Pre-change bookings are honored at the old rate and refunded if the hotel drops. Waiting cannot help.
- Redeeming at the Super 8 tier by default. Frequent Miler measured 0.59 cents there. The 15,000-point tier at a $200 hotel returns more than twice that.
- Transferring flexible points at 1:1 with no booking in mind. Chase, Capital One, and Citi points are worth 1.7 to 1.85 cents. Move them only for a priced hotel, preferably during a bonus.
- Letting the four-year clock run out. Wyndham points expire four years after posting no matter how active you are (Earner Premier points excepted), and after 18 months of inactivity regardless of age.
- Expecting card-earned Diamond to unlock Caesars Diamond. Since February 1, 2025, only night-earned Wyndham status matches to Caesars.
What to Do This Week
- Price the September 15 exposure. Search any 30,000-point resort you might stay at through 2027 (Rio Mar, Clearwater Beach, Bonnet Creek) and book it now.
- Run the card math. If you redeem two or more 30,000-point nights a year, price the Premier; otherwise the Earner Plus is the right card.
- Audit your balance by posting date. Anything approaching four years old needs a booking, not a plan.
- If you have 15 or 40 Wyndham nights on the books, request the Caesars match before a Las Vegas trip; the waived resort fees alone are worth more than most award nights.
